Child Labour Policy 2025/26

YEW is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and human rights across all aspects of our business. We believe in creating a safe, fair, and just environment for all individuals involved in our operations and supply chains. We firmly oppose child labour in any form and take proactive steps to ensure our business practices and partnerships reflect this commitment.

Policy Statement

1.1 YEW strictly prohibits the use of child labour in all aspects of our business operations and supply chains. We adhere to international and national laws, including the International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions No. 138 (Minimum Age) and No. 182 (Worst Forms of Child Labour), as well as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

1.2 Our policy defines child labour as work that is mentally, physically, socially, or morally dangerous and harmful to children, and that interferes with their schooling. We comply with local laws regarding the minimum age for employment and ensure that no individuals under the age of 18 are engaged in hazardous work.

Supplier and Partner Requirements

2.1 YEW requires all suppliers, contractors, and business partners to comply with our Child Labour Policy. They must demonstrate adherence to applicable child labour laws and international standards.

2.2 We perform due diligence on all suppliers and partners, including assessing their child labour practices as part of our supplier approval process. Any evidence of child labour within a supplier’s operations will result in immediate review and potential termination of the business relationship.

Monitoring and Compliance

3.1 YEW regularly monitors its supply chain to identify and mitigate risks related to child labour. Our supplier approval process includes verification of compliance with child labour laws and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

3.2 We conduct audits and assessments of suppliers where risks are identified, ensuring continuous compliance with our policy and ethical standards.

Remediation and Support

4.1 If child labour is found within our supply chain, YEW is committed to working collaboratively with the supplier and relevant organisations to implement remediation strategies that prioritise the welfare of the child.

4.2 Our approach includes supporting access to education, providing fair opportunities for adult employment within the affected community, and ensuring that remediation efforts do not adversely impact the child or their family.

Training and Awareness

5.1 All YEW employees receive training on our Child Labour Policy as part of our broader human rights and ethical conduct programme. This training ensures our team understands how to identify and address child labour risks in our operations and supply chains.

Reporting Concerns

6.1 YEW encourages all employees, suppliers, and stakeholders to report any concerns regarding child labour through our Whistleblowing Policy. Reports can be made confidentially and without fear of retaliation.

Governance and Review

7.1 The YEW Board oversees the implementation of our Child Labour Policy and ensures compliance with relevant laws and standards.

7.2 This policy will be reviewed annually to maintain its effectiveness and alignment with best practices and legal requirements.

Conclusion

YEW is dedicated to conducting business responsibly and ethically, championing the rights of children, and ensuring our supply chains remain free from child labour. Our commitment reflects the core values of YEW: community, support, and creating a better world for future generations.
